PLAYER PREFERENCES

Backtagging: Absolutely! The hours I keep mean that I tag at times most people aren't around to boomerang, so backtagging is my bread and butter. If we have a few threads going at once I might drop the oldest ones but otherwise, I'm good to keep one going forever.

Availability: I am in the Central time zone, but on third shift, so my tagging times are generally early morning and my nights off are Friday/Saturday. I still try to tag every thread at least once a day, but there might be some days when I can't get to my inbox, depending on how busy it is at work

Threadhopping: If it's the kind of meme that accommodates for it, absolutely, I love spontaneity in threads! I am also definitely open for PSLs with multiple characters at once, so if you want to use an existing thread for starting continuity with more players we can do that too.

Fourthwalling: I'd rather not play these types of threads.

Tagging Style: Generally I prefer prose and will usually start non-network/texting threads in prose, but I'll match whatever a thread starts as.

Assumed CR: I am extremely down for assumed CR. I feel like Shadowhunters could slot super easily into most urban fantasy canons if you want to blend universes, or if you just want help brainstorming how to AU a character into Shadowhunters/figuring out how our characters would mesh for the purposes of this, toss me a PM! Otherwise I am perfectly comfortable AUing Alec into other settings, or just some nebulous jamjar flavored place to start assuming CR works too.

GENERAL PERMISSIONS

Physical Affection: Alec will probably rudely rebuff attempts at physical contact from strangers, or even acquaintances, but as long as a character starts edging into friendship (or romantic interest) territories first he will absolutely engage in acts of physical affection. He is extremely good at hugging, because all of his limbs go on for miles and there's like an 80% chance that your character won't be too tall for him to rest his chin on the top of their head (the peak kind of hug, obviously.)

Physical Violence: Absolutely, comes with the territory of being a Shadowhunter. Alec is primarily a ranged fighter, but you don't grow up with Jace and Izzy without learning real fast how to excel in hand-to-hand as well. List of abilities here! Basically any non-fatal/non-permanent maiming is fine without pre-planning because of his ability to use healing runes, however for something that he couldn't come back from let's discuss first.

Psychic & Paranormal: Alec has defenses available to him against things like vampire mind-control which I will say extend to other forms of mind-control for RP purposes, and he has the innate ability to see through most magical disguises/glamours. However, he would have to prepare himself to resist said mind-control (by activating a Rune) and could be caught unawares, and particularly powerful glamours might require him to both realize they're there and concentrate to see past them, so both are very open to discussion if you have plot ideas. He is also not immune to demonic possession. Nephilim blood is apparently especially delicious to vampires, and vampire venom is especially potent and addicting to Nephilim, acting like a powerful drug in the moment and causing debilitating withdrawal if used enough that the body gets accustomed to it. Werewolf bites affect Nephilim like they would humans, and once bitten/turned Nephilim lose all their angelic abilities (presumably the same would happen if one was turned into a Vampire.)

Alec is a gay man, and tends towards attraction to men with muscular builds, though not necessarily particularly masculine presentation. He's really, really into power and confidence (but honestly, bonus points if that confidence masks deep insecurity because actually he wants to help people and be there for them emotionally even though he pretends to be cold and aloof most of the time.) He gets extremely domestic extremely fast if he's not stopped. A menace, honestly. Huge barnacle in the mornings, will be highly offended if there isn't at least a little bit of cuddle time put in before he's made to get up out of bed.

For shipping purposes in memes I largely play Alec from the end of season 1, after he comes out but before he enters into a committed relationship with Magnus, willing to handwave his virginity as some AU/offscreen exploration happening if you're not interested in playing with that particular aspect. Love crosscanon and OCs of any flavor but I'm especially into pairing him up with other supernatural types (urban fantasy schlock is my absolute jam!!! I watch so much genre tv it is absurd.)
